AS THE DUST SETTLES

A bull elephant dust bathes after crossing the Mara River in Maasai Mara, Kenya. Mud and dust help to keep an elephant’s skin in good condition and cool them down. Elephants are an endangered species due to the demand for ivory. There are 2,500 elephants in the 6,000-square-kilometre Greater Mara ecosystem.
