These corals are named as “mushroom corals” because of their round, mushroom-like appearance. Unlike traditional stony corals, they can move across the substrate by detaching and inflating their bodies with water, then “walking” using their muscular foot. Location: Tulamben, Bali, Indonesia 2025.
