Tuyuksu
The glacier Tuyuksu has retreated for almost a kilometer in the last 60 years, approaching a point when the amount of its run-off has dropped. The region below this glacier, including Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty, and its 2.1 million people, significantly depends on this supply of water.
