Making a Living, 2023

Waste miners search for materials that can be resold to recycling companies. In 2020, an estimated 81 million tonnes of plastic waste were mismanaged globally, with projections suggesting this figure could rise to 119 million tonnes annually by 2040. Olusosun Landfill represents both a local crisis and a reflection of a wider global challenge. By documenting life within it, I hope to shed light on the intersection of poverty, environmental injustice, and resilience.
