I feel the bitter cold; snow crystals piercing my face like grains of sand. As the blizzard intensifies a true arctic scene unfolds. In awe, I drop to my knees and frame the scene. With frozen fingers I manage to capture this image: What lasts a fraction of a second, becomes a memory for a lifetime.

أَشعر بالصقيع القارس وتخترق حبّات الثلج وجهي كما لو أنّها رمال. ومع تعاظم قوة العاصفة الثلجية، يتجلّى أمامي مشهد قطبي قلّ نظيره. وبسرعة خاطفة، أرتمي على ركبتَيّ وأبدأ بتصويره. ومع أنّ أصابعي كانت شبه متجمّدة، استطعت أن ألتقط هذه الصورة الآسرة: مشهدٌ يدوم لجزءٍ من الثانية، استطعت أن أخلّده كذكرى تدوم طوال العمر.
