Waldhufendorf, Sułoszowa, Poland 2022

The town’s layout, known as Waldhufendorf or “forest street village,” features narrow strips of farmland behind each house, a design from late Middle Ages Central Europe. Each farmer originally received about 40 acres. Now narrower, the strips still produce crops like wheat, oats, and strawberries.
