تُعدّ شبه جزيرة ستارت بوينت من الأكثر عرضةً للعواصف على الساحل الإنجليزي، إذ تتداخل مع مياه البحر على مسافة ميلٍ تقريباً. تستكنّ المنارة عند طرف هذه الجزيرة كما تمتاز بجمالٍ خلّاب، وقد أرشدت عدداً لا يحصى من السفن في القناة الانجليزية لمدّةٍ تتجاوز 150 عاماً.
