A rack of coats is displayed made from the skins of some of the most endangered big cats on Earth, including the snow leopard, jaguar, and ocelot. Customs officers from all over Europe seized the coats and kept them in Hamburg’s Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change for forensic examinations, educational activities, and to prevent their resale on the black market. The fur industry uses, on average, twelve animals to make one coat.
