As the regime fell, the doors of prisons and detention centres, where unspeakable human rights abuses took place, were thrown open. Thousands were released, but tens of thousands remained missing. Outside Sednaya Prison, families gathered with exhausted eyes and fragile hope, searching for loved ones.
