Dr. Nosie considers the fight for their religion to be the last battle facing all Indigenous people. With the lawsuit now heading for the Supreme Court, religious groups and churches representing diverse denominations, major national labor unions, tribes, and other groups across the country have signed amicus briefs in support of the Apache Stronghold’s case. The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), which is made up of leaders from 146 tribal nations, recently passed a resolution unanimously affirming their support.
