Above the Noise

(Peru) After five brutal days on the Huayhuash trek, I ascended the 5 000-meter San Antonio Pass at night, breathless, aching. As blue hour broke, I moved fast to capture the fleeting light. Then, alone on a mountainside of silence and shadow, I finally found stillness—and rose above the noise.
