North of the lakeside town of Pokhara in western Nepal, we found a secluded and grassy hillside and pitched our tent near a vertical 2,000 foot drop. 12km’s north and across the valley, we knew that Machhapuchhare was there, but out of sight, hidden by a blanket of grey.
