Children in a Koran school

A wall in a Koran school in Muara Baru shows a water line – a silent witness of the last major flood. The water level was in some houses one and a half meters high and it remained in the neighbourhood for two weeks before it had completely subsided. There are only a few waterways in the area and these are silted up by waste and dirt. After heavy rains the streets are flooded.
