9/10th of an iceberg is below the surface. Icebergs float given the air that’s trapped in them. The slanted lines seen here above the surface point to the iceberg’s melt cycle. Through its melting phase, the iceberg loses mass, raising its waterline. The tilt reflects the shifting center of gravity.
