Close to Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, Som Rong Pagoda is home to the country’s largest Buddha statue. On Vesak Eve, which marks Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and passing, monks light candles and lanterns in tribute to the one who illuminated the world with the noble truths.
