A grand celebration of Mazu, the lady of the seas in coastal Chinese mythology. Deified in the 10th century, she was a shaman from Fujian and is now revered as the protector of sailors. Mazu worship blends Buddhism, Taoism, and folk traditions in one of the world’s most widespread syncretic faiths.
